OCD (Obsessive compulsive disorder)

OCD can be extraordinarily disruptive to the lives of those who suffer with it. Intrusive thoughts translate into repetitive behavioural traits.
You may have hygiene and contamination issues, resulting in behaviours such as washing hands, showering, and cleaning. You may form rituals, such as checking doors, tapping, avoiding certain numbers and saying phrases in your head. You may hoard things, or have thoughts of guarding against danger.

These behaviours can take up a great deal of time and energy and cause considerable mental distress. People with OCD can feel anxious when trying to hide the issues from people.

They will usually have experienced an event or experience in the past, which has created a deep anxiety. It may not be a single event, but events that subconsciously has arisen to protect the person at the time.

Behavioural Counselling Therapy can be used to look at the thoughts and feelings that lead to certain behaviour, or occur as a result of the behaviour, to better understand it.

Hypnotherapy works with your subconscious to let it know that the behaviours it is creating are no longer necessary, useful or helpful.
